In Scandinavian countries, saunas and wood-fired hot tubs are inseparable elements of wellness culture. With centuries of tradition, the classic Scandinavian hot tub is understood without the modern additions of the past decade. A traditional Scandinavian hot tub typically lacks:
Traditionally, the hot tub is filled with fresh water before each use and emptied afterward.
However, modern technologies have transformed this process. With a combination of minimal chemicals, a sand filter, and a UV lamp, it’s now possible to keep water clean for up to one or two months. This saves both water and energy used for heating.
For example, if you soak in your wood-burning hot tub during the evening and temperatures are above freezing, using a quality insulated cover can help retain heat. The next morning, you’ll find the water still warm, requiring only a slight temperature adjustment before use. This approach is highly economical.
Whether you’re looking for a log burner hot tub, a cedar hot tub, or a modern wood-fired hot tub equipped with advanced features, today’s market offers a variety of sizes and styles to suit every preference. From the classic wood fired hot tub 2 person to wood-burning hot tubs designed for UK climates, the options ensure comfort, efficiency, and timeless Scandinavian charm.
The first step in selecting a wood-fired hot tub is deciding on the size, shape, and the location of the wood-burning heater.
Round hot tubs typically come with an internal diameter of 180 cm, accommodating 4-person hot tubs (ideal for 4–6 people), or 200 cm, suitable for 6-person hot tubs (up to 6–8 people). Their external diameters are approximately 200 cm and 220 cm, respectively.
If space is limited in your garden, consider how many people will use the hot tub at once and whether a smaller size could save water. Keep in mind:
Modern square wood-burning hot tubs resemble Jacuzzi-style designs. These tubs offer:
However, square designs lose the traditional circular seating arrangement, so consider whether you prioritize space efficiency or the classic round tub experience.
All premium wood-fired hot tubs can be equipped with air and hydro massage systems. While the number of air jets isn’t critical, 6 to 12 jets are sufficient to provide gentle massages and a soothing bubbling effect.
For hydro jets, the choice depends on the level of intensity you desire:
For a luxurious soak, consider a wood-burning hot tub with massage features. This option combines the charm of traditional wood heating with modern comforts, creating a unique and efficient relaxation experience.
In most cases, we recommend choosing a wood-fired hot tub with an integrated wood burner. This design offers several key advantages:
An external wood burner might be preferred if you want more traditional seating space inside the hot tub, as integrated burners often create a raised area within the tub.
Both integrated and external wood-burning hot tubs heat the water efficiently:
Your choice ultimately depends on your space requirements and design preferences.
For a more luxurious experience, consider a hot tub with massage features and a wood burner. This combination allows you to enjoy the benefits of a traditional wood-fired tub while relaxing with the comforts of modern technology.
With a wood burner hot tub, you’re ready for serene moments outdoors, no matter the season.
The all-inclusive base package provides everything you need for a comfortable experience and quick water heating—ready for use right after installation. You can also customize your hot tub with additional components to meet your specific needs.
These essential components are included as standard with every Gardenvity wood-fired hot tub, ensuring you can enjoy a premium soaking experience from the moment it’s installed.
Choose from a variety of marble-like colors to give your hot tub a luxurious feel, or opt for solid colors for a more classic look.
Both fiberglass and acrylic inserts are designed with durability in mind. Marine-grade gelcoat is used for fiberglass, reinforced with multiple layers of fiberglass. These layers are applied both mechanically and manually to ensure attention to detail. Our fiberglass and acrylic hot tub inserts are particularly robust and offer a long lifespan.
Simply clean the insert with a mild detergent and a soft, non-abrasive cloth or sponge. These inserts are highly resistant to salts and chemicals, so you can safely use chlorine-based water treatment solutions for disinfection.
The precision-rounded edges of both the fiberglass and acrylic hot tub inserts perfectly conform to your body’s contours. Unlike traditional wood and plastic models, which can often be uncomfortable, both the fiberglass and acrylic inserts feature ergonomic shapes, ensuring a comfortable and relaxing soak.
Our Premium Hot Tubs come with exquisite cladding made from naturally beautiful Thermowood planks. All Nordic Hot Tubs can be upgraded with a Thermowood finish for an enhanced look and feel.
Thermowood is a type of spruce wood that has been treated with heat, steam, and oils to stabilize it for outdoor use. This process ensures that Thermowood maintains its shape far better than untreated wood.
Thanks to its resistance to decay and fungal growth, Thermowood is an extremely durable wood that thrives in all climates and weather conditions. It boasts excellent thermal insulation properties, reducing heat loss by 20-25% compared to untreated softwoods.
The surface treatment helps preserve the wood’s original color over time. Thermowood can also be used outdoors without oil treatment, though the wood will gradually turn gray, just like any untreated wood.
Gardenvity Wood-Fired Hot Tubs are equipped with ovens made from certified food-grade steel, meeting our strict internal standards.
You can choose between stainless steel V2A (AISI 304) and V4A (AISI 316). We recommend opting for stainless steel V4A if you need higher chlorine resistance or if the hot tub with stove is exposed to high salt levels, such as near the sea.
The wood stove in Gardenvity hot tubs heats the water in summer within 1 to 2 hours, while in winter it takes 3 to 4 hours. To heat cold water, 12-25 kg of firewood is required, making the heating process highly efficient.
This cover not only makes heating your hot tub faster (1-2 hours in summer, 3-4 hours in winter) but also plays a key role in heat retention over extended periods, ensuring that your hot tub is always ready and efficient, regardless of the season. The advantage of the dual-fold cover is that it can be easily removed and applied by one person.
Air is released through the jets into the water, creating bubbles and whirlpools that provide a gentle massage for your entire body.
If you opt for 12 air jets, eight will be placed in the backrest area and four in the foot area. If you add eight more jets (a total of 20), they will be positioned around the seat edge, providing a gentle massage for your legs. Both options are powered by a single 700W compressor.
Turn the air jet massage on and off with the push of a button – it’s that simple.
The hydro jet system in the hot tub releases water under pressure, providing relaxing relief for your muscles and joints. It helps alleviate tension and promotes deep relaxation.
The placement and number of hydro jets are carefully designed with the human body in mind to ensure maximum massage effectiveness. With 20 hydro jets (powered by a 2.2 kW pump), you can enjoy up to three “therapeutic seats,” each equipped with six jets targeting tension along your back. If you select 10 hydro jets (powered by a 1.1 kW pump), they are strategically placed at the backrest height.
The hydro jet system in the hot tub includes built-in pressure adjustment controls, allowing you to easily increase or decrease the massage intensity in different areas of the tub for a customized experience.
Elevate your hot tub experience with our LED lighting system, designed to create an exceptional ambiance. Use the dynamic color mode to entertain guests with a spectrum of colors, or set a single hue to match your mood.
Featuring a central LED and/or 10 or 12 mini LEDs (depending on the model) around the interior edge, our lighting system offers a stunning and customizable visual experience that enhances your relaxation and enjoyment.
With 10 or 12 carefully placed mini LEDs at the base of your spa, the enchanting glow of your hot tub extends beautifully into its surroundings.
Gardenvity’s PREMIUM wood-fired hot tubs feature an advanced filtration system that keeps your water clean with minimal effort.
The 100% recyclable, non-toxic PET filter balls provide an incredibly efficient and environmentally friendly way to maintain fresh and clean water in your hot tub. Depending on usage, the filter balls only need cleaning once a month and replacement every two years.
The filter balls capture impurities as small as 5 microns, enhancing the performance of the sand filter pump by reducing pressure. This results in a higher flow rate and extended product longevity.
